WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Various studies, as well as our experience, have shown that when we help women and empower them, the whole society benefits. Their families are healthier, children go to school, income levels improve and communities become more prosperous. But unfortunately in India, far from being empowered, most women are denied even their basic rights like health, education, employment and a respectable status in society.
According to UNDP Human Development Report (2009), 88% of pregnant women (age 15-49) were found to be suffering from anaemia. India has a dangerously imbalanced sex ratio, the chief reason being female infanticides and sex-selective abortions. According to UNICEF’s “State of the World’s Children-2009” report, 47% of India's women aged 20–24 were married before the legal age of 18.
Empowering women to participate fully in this economic life across all sector is essential to built stronger economic condition to achieve their goals for development and sustainability, and improve the quality of life for men , women, families and community.

SHG:-

AL-KHAIR INDIA FOUNDATION started the program a self-help group (SHG) is a village-based financial intermediary committee usually composed of 10–20 local women or men. A mixed group is generally not preferred. Most self-help groups are located in India, though SHGs can be found in other countries.

Beautician:-

AL-KHAIR INDIA FOUNDATION started the program of Beautician Course for the Girls. Women and girls are trapped in a cycle of poverty by a lack of diverse and market responsive education and skill building opportunities. Many girls are pulled out of school to take over household responsibilities and never develop the skills to enter the job market.

Stitching:-

Women are worst affected when it comes to unemployment and poverty. Women empowerment through self-reliance and financial independence can be achieved by providing vocational training, through which women can either start up something of their own or take- up a job. AL-KHAIR INDIA FOUNDATION started the various Sewing Centres to make women self- sufficient and confident. Stitching garments is one job that remains till end of the mankind. Further, basic tailoring skills enable women to work from home, they can continue in their traditional role as homemaker and yet earn. Tailoring is something which women can immediately start right from their homes upon completion of their course.
